About Costco Tire Service Center
Costco Tire Service Center is a tire shop in McKinney, Texas. It is listed at 3650 W University Dr #1284b, McKinney, TX 75071, which places it among the local businesses of McKinney that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Tire shops sell and install new tires, patch punctures, balance wheels and, at most locations, align the suspension. Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a state disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement, but check the tread depth (4/32 inch or more) and the DOT date code, since rubber ages even on the shelf. Mobile tire services come to your driveway or the roadside, commercial shops handle semi, trailer, farm and off-road tires, and wheel shops repair and refinish bent or curb-scraped rims.

McKinney is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around McKinney is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

EXTREMELY disappointing experience. DO NOT GO HERE!!! LISTEN TO OTHER REVIEWS! The customer service, especially from the supervisor, was unprofessional and dismissive. I would NOT RECOMMEND coming here for a rotation and balance if you expect honest communication and proper service. We recently brought our vehicle in after noticing the two front tires were cracking and seemed unsafe. The supervisor claimed this was caused by the car being parked in the sun and not being driven. That explanation made no sense. It is a car. Being in the sun is normal. It is also garage kept when not in use and driven every single day for work. During the conversation, he even said, βI highly doubt the car is driven every day.β That comment was unnecessary and disrespectful. Throughout the discussion, he also tried to talk down to me and overexplain basic tire concepts as if I had no understanding of vehicles. I actually have mechanical knowledge and a solid understanding of tires, wheels, and alignments. I have owned multiple lifted trucks, regularly deal with larger tire setups, and frequently have suspension and alignment work done. I am very familiar with how toe alignment affects inner tire we

My tire pressure light has been flashing for months. It turns out to be the sensor was out of battery. The tire center replace it with less than half price of what the dealers presented. The staff here is very patient and helpful.

I have used Costco's tire center for decades and this is a mixed experience at this location: 1. Got 4 new tires 6 months ago. Good experience. Pressure and lug nut torqued properly. 2. Just brought in for scheduled rotation and balance. Due to the icy condition last week, they called ahead of time and rescheduled, all good. 3. It took about an hour as promised. No problem there. 4. Courteous and thorough explanation of what's been done, on paper: torqued to 89 ft-lb, pumped to 30 and 29 psi front and rear. Sounds very good. So far so good. However, I have this habit of checking pressure and torque myself every time I come back from a shop. I accept the fact the compress air tools is not known to be super accurate in setting the torque. But I swear it took me 150 ft-lb to loosen any of the 20 bolts. Never experienced such difference. All 4 tires measured 33psi, this is about the pressure when I brought it in. I can't say for sure if they didn't pump it or there is an offset between their pump and my own gauge. 3 psi is not huge so I can accept it. However, all 4 caps are not finger tight. That's not good. I'll be back in 6 months...

They were fantastic! I had an appointment and they took my car in a few minutes early. Super polite and straightforward on the phone and when checking out. I was having issues with a slow leak on one of my tires that I purchased from another Costco Tire two months ago and they took the time to explain to me probable causes and what they did for a temporary fix. I did not feel talked down to as a woman and really appreciated their professionalism. I was in and out within an hour.
